ASBMB Committee Service Applications

At the direction of ASBMB Council, committees drive ASBMB programming and priorities forward. ASBMB is committed to reflecting the broad community it seeks to serve in its committee members and encourages applications from any interested and qualified members.
Applications are for three-year terms beginning July 2025 and ending June 2028.
Eligibility: Applicants must be current regular, industry, early career, emeritus, affiliate or graduate student ASBMB members. Additional qualifications are set per committee — see links below.

- Student Chapters Committee - only current and recent student chapter advisors eligible — collected through a separate application here
What to have ready for an application
- Basic information: name, email, institution, title, degree, area of expertise
- Summary of previous ASBMB volunteer experience, if any
- Summary of previous other relevant volunteer experience, if any
- A statement of interest (<500 words)
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
Candidate review process
ASBMB bylaws note that the president appoints ASBMB committee members, with Council Executive Committee approval. After the submission deadline, each ASBMB committee will review applications and develop recommended appointments. Those recommendations will be submitted to the president and Executive Committee for review. Nominees will be notified of their application's status in late June or early July.
